If Thaumcraft is also installed, Parrot Power adds an additional block: the Volitant Visinator. This particular block enhances the aura of its chunk by adding vis. It operates on the same principle as the Aves Alternator, requiring power from parrots to function. The mod's features are conditional on the presence of Thaumcraft for the Visinator, but the Alternator is a standalone addition.
