Overgeared Mod 1.20.1–1.21.1

MOD

The Overgeared mod redefines tool and armor crafting in Minecraft with a forging system that ties quality to player input. This system replaces traditional crafting, offering a deep approach to metalworking, blueprint creation, and alloying. It introduces a steel tier for progression between iron and diamond. Key features include converting Stone into a Stone Anvil and vanilla Anvils into Smithing Anvils. The mod also adds the ability to knap stone tool parts using a click-based interface, and requires a Smithing Hammer to activate forging.

Forging quality, which affects durability, attack damage, attack speed, and mining speed, is determined by hit timing in a minigame. Blueprints define the maximum achievable forging quality and can be upgraded or duplicated. Diamond items are no longer crafted in a crafting table but are upgraded from steel gear at a Smithing Table, requiring a special Smithing Template. The mod also features Clay and Nether Tool Casts for duplicating tool heads and specialized furnaces like the Brick Alloy Furnace and Nether Alloy Furnace for alloy creation, with Netherite Ingots requiring the latter. JEI/EMI is highly recommended for browsing recipes.
