Nyctography Mod 1.21.1–26.3
MODNyctography introduces the Nyctography substitution cipher as a new Minecraft font. This font is usable for books, signs, chat messages, tooltips, and most in-game text. The writing system, invented by Lewis Carroll in 1891, uses dots and lines arranged around a square's edges. Numbers are represented using consonants, which the mod handles automatically when applying the font. Special characters like dash, "and," "digit," "letter," and "date" are also included.

The mod also adds a new banner pattern allowing any font character to be applied to a banner. This pattern can be crafted or obtained as a rare trade from wandering traders, with both methods configurable or disableable via the config file. To apply the font to text, users must set the font property of the text to "nyctography:nyctography" within Mojang's text component system, compatible with commands and datapack features accepting raw JSON text. This mod depends on the Bookshelf library.
