Not Enough Recipe Book (NERB) is a performance optimization mod designed to completely disable or remove Minecraft's vanilla recipe book to eliminate world join lag and data bloat. In massive modpacks, unlocked vanilla recipes generate immense entity NBT data that slows down server synchronizations and script evaluations.
The mod offers multiple operational modes, including completely removing the recipe book icon, disabling background recipe syncing, or repurposing the icon to toggle the JEI/REI/EMI interface. This substantially reduces save file bloat and accelerates world loading times in heavy packs.
