Monsters&Girls: Secrets of Mermaids Mod 1.18.2–1.20.1

"Monsters&Girls: Secrets of Mermaids" is a mod that introduces various aquatic and semi-aquatic mobs. It currently adds two species of mermaids and one type of crab girl. Mermaids, inspired by real fish species, can be tamed but do not follow their owner or walk on land; players can toggle them between staying in place or wandering. The mod also includes a creature called Microspinus, available only in version 1.20.1.

The Abyssal Mermaid, based on the Black Swallower, spawns in deep ocean biomes (excluding warm ones), is aggressive, and can regurgitate items when hit in a bloated state. It can be tamed with raw cod or salmon. The Tropical Pygmy Mermaid, based on reef fish, spawns in warm oceans, is passive, and can find shiny items when given raw fish. It can be tamed with cooked cod or salmon. Crab Girls, inspired by coconut and hermit crabs, spawn when sand blocks are broken in beach biomes and can be tamed with tropical fish. Microspinus, found near rivers and swamps, can be tamed with raw fish and lay eggs when given cooked cod.
