Default Options allows modpack creators to distribute customized video settings, controls, and server lists without overwriting player changes on future updates. It eliminates the hassle of players having their keybindings reset when updating their favorite modpack.
Creators save configurations using the in-game command into a dedicated default options directory shipped with the pack. On first launch, user preferences are initialized to the developer's defaults while subsequent personal customizations remain safely preserved.
