MODDeeper Nether Biomes addresses the generation of Soul Sand Valleys and Basalt Deltas introduced in the 1.16 Nether update. The mod's specific purpose is to extend these biomes deeper underground, as they are originally surface-level and quickly transition to netherrack when explored vertically. It aims to make these large cave biomes feel more extensive and consistent below the surface.

During the underground generation step, the mod adds the correct versions of nether quartz and nether gold to Soul Sand Valleys and Basalt Deltas, replacing generic netherrack and their default ore types. Additionally, in the final modify top-layer generation step, it replaces netherrack, netherrack gold, and netherrack quartz within these biomes with their respective filler blocks. The mod is best used when the Nether is pre-generated, as its processes can introduce some lag due to the extensive block replacement.
