All customizations within Celestial are managed via a resource pack, eliminating the need for configuration file adjustments. Resource packs are stated to function identically across different supported versions. For Fabric versions, the Fabric API is explicitly required. The mod offers examples of its capabilities, including alien planet skies, an Overworld rendered at a high Y-level, a hurricane, and a night sky with Solar System planets.
