Vintage Wilds Modpack 1.20.1

Vintage Wilds is a modpack that aims to provide a survival experience closer to vanilla Minecraft, avoiding overly grindy gameplay while introducing distinct progression through various Ages. Players begin with primitive tools like flint and utilize a pottery system for early storage. Progression involves crafting with specialized tools such as the Crafting Workspace, Primitive Crafting Table, and Primitive Smelter before gaining access to a traditional crafting table. The modpack incorporates temperature and thirst systems, rebalanced recipes, and encourages in-world crafting using workstations. It also features localized weather and seasons that affect farming and player temperature, with immersive weathering effects.

Survival in Vintage Wilds extends beyond crafting. Players must build defensible bases, as waves of monsters will attack approximately every week, with raids increasing in difficulty over time. Monsters can break certain blocks to reach players. Hostile mobs also spawn on the surface at night during Winter. Farming requires water management, as farmland consumes water and the resource is finite, necessitating aqueducts for irrigation. Animals can defend themselves, and predators are hostile. Quests are included to guide progression through each Age. The modpack is currently in early beta, with some content and Ages still in development.
