The gameplay centers around three development routes: Create technology, magic, and firearms, all of which rely on Create. Villager trading, waystone, and enchantment systems have been weakened, allowing players to choose their own enchantments instead of rolling for books. It also features task guidance from novice to clearance and includes Valkyrie & Skies.
