To initiate the mermaid experience, players must select either the Merling or Siren Origin. A "Sea Necklace" is required, which can be equipped in the Necklace bauble slot. This necklace can be customized using a Tail Gradient feature, which allows the tail color to fade to a second color, or by dyeing it in the crafting grid. Once these preparations are complete, players can find an ocean to begin their gameplay.
