Legacies 26 is a heavily-custom modpack that aims to reimagine and enhance Minecraft's familiar style. It features expanded gear progression, with new paths from wood to materials like Rose, Remnant, or Featherzeal. The Overworld includes over 20 new biomes, such as Frozen Caves and Golden Forest, alongside upgraded vanilla biomes. The modpack also introduces a massive update to the vanilla soundtrack, adding dozens of new tracks and ambient sounds while retaining original songs. Enchanting and repairing systems are completely overhauled, offering new and reworked enchantments, curses, and blessings, with new elements like Tomes and Altars for customization.

The modpack provides an upgraded Nether with new materials, loot, structures, overhauled worldgen, and ore veins. The End dimension is also expanded, requiring players to collect and repair Fractured Eyes to reach an overhauled Stronghold and fight a renewed Ender Dragon. Combat features custom mechanics, including quivers for ranged combat, shields with blocking meters and parry-timing, and modified hunger/health regeneration. New and updated structures like overhauled Dungeons, Catacombs, Remnants, Ruins, and Obelisks are scattered across the world, all made fittingly rare. The advancement system is overhauled with over 100 custom advancements, guiding players through the main progression and various dimensions.
