This mod, named "Friendly Divorce," alters the default outcomes following a divorce. Instead of resetting a divorcee's friendship points to zero, this mod sets them to a customizable value, which defaults to 2000 points, equivalent to eight hearts. Additionally, the divorcee's friendship status is changed from "Divorced" to "Friendly" by default. These changes apply to two specific variables.

Alternatively, users can enable a "ComplexDivorce" option within the config.json file. With this enabled, users can articulate grievances when signing divorce papers, which influences the ex-spouse's remaining hearts and status. Being "nice" can preserve hearts, while being "mean or slanderous" results in an angry ex. Users can also opt for the ex-spouse to cover settlement costs, which comes at the expense of hearts. If, after a complex divorce, an ex-spouse has four or fewer hearts, their status becomes "divorced" and they are angry; if higher, their status is "Friendly." The mod requires SMAPI and utilizes Harmony, and it is not compatible with "Multiple Spouses."
